I'm not familiar with Assurant but have Blue Cross (actually Blue Plus Coverage). It's not the cheapest insurance but has been awesome thus far for both of my pregnancies I've had while covered. The plan I'm under covers all of my prenatal and and 90% of delivery and postpartum care. The group I'm in is a small business plan with only 11 or 12 of us using it from our company but it is really good coverage. I'm considered high risk due to being a diabetic and know that I have good care and doctors, but if you feel need to get a plan sooner then you already have your answer.

Good luck to you.

I found out I was pregnant with my daughter a week after becoming eligible for my Blue Cross plan, they covered my pregnancy, the birth and added her ASAP. Choose another plan in Blue Cross or look into Blue Shield

I have Assurant health and you may want to check again because I had to wait 9 months to get pregnant. Most companys are 1 year and that is why we went with Assurant because it is 3 months shorter waiting time. Sorry I don't know much about Blue Cross. With Assurant though we pay $2500 then they pay 100%. I think generic meds are $15. One thing to think about though is we have to pay the first $2500 per year. So since this is Dec. and I just got pregnant we have to pay $2500 (if we reach that amount which we won't cause the year is almost over) then when January comes around we have to start over and pay the first $2500 again. Thank goodness I got pregnant at the end of the year so I don't have to pay that twice. Hope this helps some.
